I love it when something I've never tried before just works right away. I'm talking about buying a Hydrogen Alpha telescope, taking it out of the box, hooking up a camera, and within about 10 minutes of tinkering, capturing these incredible images of our Sun!

I still have a lot to learn about finding the best settings for capturing and processing, as well as getting familiar with another software package (ImPPG). But given these results, I am really excited!

I decided to get a Coronado PST since it's the most accessible and affordable way to get into solar imaging. With Meade going out of business, I wasn't sure how much longer it would be available for at a decent price since these days, when things go out of production people seem to think they have gold and ask for outrageous prices.
