December 07, 2024 | 12:27AM | Jupiter Opposition

I was out for about 4 hours and only managed to get about 2 minutes of pretty decent seeing. Of course I didn't trust the weather so I took the opportunity on the day before opposition since it was really clear. I suppose that's close enough.

Before calling it a night I decided to take a few shots of Mars. It was bubbling all over the atmosphere making it really hard to focus but I was able to get a few decent shots out of it. Hopefully I'll have some clear nights next month for its opposition.

I also gave SharpCaps new planetary live stacking feature a go. They recently released some additional features that help with stabilization and centering. It's not bad and I will probably use it more often when I just want to view the planets and not bother too much about acquiring some photos.
