My most frequently used eyepieces in my collection are the 13mm and 9mm TeleVue Nagler options. Between these two, I tend to favor the 13mm for the majority of my observing sessions because I've come to realize that achieving clarity in my views holds more importance for me than simply pursuing higher magnification.

The aspect I find particularly attractive about the Nagler eyepieces is their expansive 82-degree field of view. This characteristic makes them remarkably comfortable during extended observation periods, even for individuals who wear glasses (although I usually take off my glasses when observing).

Taking up the third spot on my list is the Edmund Optics RKE 28mm eyepiece. This particular eyepiece provides a unique sensation where, when positioned correctly, it gives the observer the feeling of floating in space. It's akin to peering through a porthole, where the edge of the eyepiece vanishes and the view inside spills over it, partially obscuring the edge.

While I do possess eyepieces of higher quality in the same magnification range, I derive a sense of satisfaction from using this one towards the conclusion of my observing sessions. The added sensation of "floating" while exploring the night sky contributes to this satisfaction. This eyepiece excels when focused on rich star fields and lunar observations, making it an exceptional choice for such views.

Regardless of your preferred brand, putting together these three sizes, and perhaps including a 40mm or 32mm for wider views, forms an excellent eyepiece set. You can relish using these for many years without feeling the need to expand further.
