May 26, 2024 | 10:51PM | Messier 87's Plasma Jet

While doing some of my Messier updates this evening I came across something I was not aware of. M87's plasma jet emitting from it's core that extends about 4,900 light-years. Unfortunately for me, my skies wash out any possible blue color of the jet, but the fact I can capture it at all was very satisfying.

You can read about M87's black hole, that is causing the emission here: M87*
