I wanted to take a shot of Jupiter before it begins to shrink in the night sky this month. It's really high up over the atmosphere so I was able to capture it early in the evening.
Now that my Messier marathon is over I don't have too many goals for the year but here are a few off the top of my head.
I only scraped the surface of photographing Venus last year and would like to get a nice capture of it this year now that I have a better grasp of what I am doing when it comes to photographing planets.
Mars should start showing its face later towards the end of the year which I hope to get a nice shot of that planet. I have one tiny capture of it with my SCT which I took right when I got the scope and days before it would start slipping away from my sky so I haven't had an opportunity to really photograph it well.
Of course I will be revisiting some of the Messier objects I was not able to get clear shots of last year to update my photo gallery with and I hope the take a nice shot of M51 this year using my EQ mount.
The ISS is up there in my goals but not sure how I'll manage that. I'll have to do some research on the best way to go about it.
